Alan Kulwicki is my favorite all-time driver, so his death took a major toll on my fandom, but it didn't kill it. It was all the B.S. coming out of NASCAR (and to a lesser degree, all of the entities associated with it) that ultimately drove me away, as well as the friend who converted me in the first place. For a couple of years after I broke off ties, I'd hear about ways that NASCAR was tinkering with the rules and I'd say "What the--- Well, I'm glad I don't follow that circus anymore". After a while, I couldn't even bother to be surprised.

I've seen tremendously loyal fans, ones who based much of their purchasing habits on "who sponsors a car?" and who used to have "Friends don't let friends drive Chevy" bumper stickers.. I've seen many of those fans turn their back on NASCAR. I couldn't even guess as to how NASCAR wins back their old fan base or creates a new one.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3748335246635491217.post-73376905463475031512017-11-18T13:00:29.128-06:002017-11-18T13:00:29.128-06:00I don't really follow NASCAR, but that's s...I don't really follow NASCAR, but that's sad to hear that those three big names are wrapping up their careers. I can name 7 current drivers... and three of them are Patrick, Earnhardt, and Kenseth.

P.S. Great song selection. Listen to that song and Heat of the Moment over and over again when I was a kid.Fujihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00749100861086458307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3748335246635491217.post-44721828835265713822017-11-18T06:32:32.214-06:002017-11-18T06:32:32.214-06:00Hopefully she'll have a good showing at Indy. ...Hopefully she'll have a good showing at Indy. I have no doubt she would have won a few more IndyCar races had she stuck in that series. Still, a very good career. The Lost Collectorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07281282785351456790noreply@blogger.com
